Boys and girls come learn the basics of basketball! In this instructional program participants will learn and build skills in dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding and defense. Players will have fun practicing basic skills to progress into small game scrimmage. Children will be broken down into smaller groups and rotated through different stations to learn basic game play and the fundamentals of basketball, while using a smaller ball and lower net.
Join us for this 6-week session as participants learn and develop the fundamental skills of dribbling, passing, shooting and teamwork! Hotshots Basketball Plus program is for boys and girls, ages 6-8 years old. This program features weekly game scrimmages. Players will build on skills learned in our Introductory Hotshots Basketball class. Players must take our Introductory Hotshots Basketball class prior to taking Hotshots Plus.
Come join us and learn how to make some delicious recipes. This class will allow your little chef to explore the culinary world while making yummy treats. Children will cook two different recipes each week. General cooking skills will be developed, including safety in the kitchen. This active learning program affiliated with the US-ITF teaches self-discipline, self defense and builds self-esteem. It encourages the development of positive character traits such as courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit. This is a year-round program that is offered in monthly sessions and held every Tuesday and Thursday. No previous experience is required and new students are always welcome. Instructors will cover grip, stance, putting, swing, chipping and pitching. This program is designed for all skill levels. Participants are encouraged to bring their own clubs. All balls included. This program is designed for adults, ages 50 and older, to increase muscle strength, balance, flexibility and range of motion for daily activities. There will be some resistance equipment used as well as chairs for seated exercises and standing support. This program is designed to be a safe and effective exercise program for a wide range or ages and conditions including arthritis. It uses the Sun Style of Tai Chi with its Qigong exercise to benefit balance, flexibility, mobility, coordination, management of arthritis and health in general. No prior experience necessary. This class is held on Mondays and Wednesdays for a total of 12 sessions! Certified Tai Chi Instructor: John Wilkerson, will be teaching this class at the Webster Building. Class will be held indoors and outdoors depending on weather conditions.
